LUDO's Broken Bride - Morning in May in March - Chicago 2026

Carson Higgins (The Traveler)

Carson Higgins returns to Ludo’s Broken Bride after appearing in the Off-Broadway production at NYMF. He was recently seen at The Public Theater in the acclaimed world premiere production of Initiative by Else Went and can be seen later this year in the viral hit musical Golem Owned a Tropical Smoothie.

Nik Kmiecik (Tom)

Nik Kmiecik is a Chicago based Actor-Musician-Singer who has worked on over 40+ productions in theatres across the Chicagoland area. He’s lead and sung with a variety of bands and performers and writes/produces his own music and stage plays in his free time. Nik is enthusiastic to be taking part in the Chicago premiere of Ludo’s Broken Bride. Nik is represented by Stewart Talent.

Natalie Masini (The Bride / The Boy)

Natalie Masini is a newly Chicago based actor, having recently moved back to her home state after spending the last decade in LA. Theatre credits include: Scissorhands (The Bourbon Room), Invincible (Bay Street Theatre), Starry (Feinstein’s/54 Below), A Midsummer Nightmare (Sacred Fools Theatre), UMPO: A League of Their Own (Rockwell Table & Stage), Chicago (Harris Center for the Arts), and Billy Elliot (Atwood Concert Hall). TV/Film: Griselda (Netflix), Dread Manor (KeyTV Network), My Crazy Ex (Lifetime Movie Network). You can also hear her as Addison in episodes 4 and 5 of the musical sci-fi radio series Pulp Musicals and on the original musical soundtracks of Starry and Dr. Nympho Vs. The Sex Zombies. QUINN KELCH – He/Him (Simius) Recent credits include the Jeff Award nominated Jekyll and Hyde and Jeff Award winning American Psycho (Kokandy Productions), Rock of Ages (MPAC), Dragons Love Tacos, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show (NTYA); Avenue Q (William Street Rep); The Steadfast Tin Soldier (Lookingglass Theatre Company); and Spring Awakening (Porchlight Music Theatre). Alina Taber is a Chicago based actor/musician. Recent credits include: Anthony Rapp: Home for the Holidays (Lookingglass Theatre), Picnic, Winter’s Tale (American Players Theatre), The Lord of The Rings- A Musical Tale (International tour and original American cast; Te Civic, Auckland NZ and Chicago Shakespeare Theater), A Streetcar Named Desire (Paramount Theatre), Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Marriott Theatre), Grease (Drury Lane Theatre), and Once (Writer's Theatre). In TV and Film, Alina was a recurring character on the One Chicago shows (Lexi Olinsky). As a cabaret singer and print model, she can be seen throughout Illinois performing or pretending to be a gambling addict on bus stop ads, billboards, and casino pamphlets. IG: @alinajeninetaber

Justine Cameron (she/her) is a Chicago based actor, singer, and creative. Recent credits include: Newsies (Paramount Theatre), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Harlequin Productions & Olympia SO), Sister Act (Metropolis Performing Arts Centre), Les Misérables (Uptown Music Theatre of Highland Park), Merrily We Roll Along (Blank Theatre Company). Justine originally hails from the beautiful city of Seattle. She can be seen performing in cabarets and concerts around Chicago and New York City, and her debut single “Second Guessing” can be found on Spotify and Apple Music. Savannah Sinclair (Featured Ensemble)

Savannah Sinclair is a Chicago based performer, director and choreographer. In 2020, they graduated with a degree in Musical Theatre from Manhattan School of Music. Recently she understudied 33 roles across 7 productions at the Marriott Theatre. Other credits include Judy in 9 to 5 The Musical, Alice Beineke in The Addams Family (Metropolis Performing Arts Center) and Fastrada in Pippin (Music Theater Works). Up next, they’ll be assistant directing Heartbreak Hotel alongside director Deidre Goodwin at the Marriott Theatre.

Frankie Cordero (Karl/Puppeteer)

Frankie Cordero is an Emmy nominated puppetry performer and puppet builder. He has worked nationally and internationally helping bring countless characters to life in short films, music videos, national commercials, and TV shows such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Tick, CSI: Las Vegas, Sesame Street (Rudy), t’s a Big, Big World (Ensemble), Julie’s Greenroom with Julie Andrews (Spike), Oobi (Papu), Frankie and Frank (Frankie), and various characters on Jack’s Big Music Show and Nature Cat. He also works as a director/storyboard artist for Chicago-based Spiffy Pictures and Fred Rogers Productions for Donkey Hodie on PBS Kids. Other directing credits include videos for Sesame Street, spots for Collegehumor/Motorola, and “The Whole World and You” music video from Tally Hall/Atlantic Records, for which he was also producer and co-designer. Live performance credits include performances at The White House, La MaMa ETC, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, and The Metropolitan Opera, in which he was one of three principal puppeteers in Madama Butterfly, portraying the title character’s three-year-old son, Sorrow. Cordero has also toured nationally and internationally with such companies as Blair Thomas & Co, Hystopolis Productions, Phantom Limb Company, Walking With Dinosaurs, and Dramaton Theater, where he was a principal performer and co-Artistic Director. He lives in Oak Park, IL with his wife Marea, his two daughters; Zora and Zella, and their two tabbies; Raya and Stanley.

Haley Jenkins (Desdemona/Puppeteer)

Haley Jenkins is a puppeteer/director and a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and the DGA. She performs the title role in the PBS Kids series Donkey Hodie and the character Karli on Sesame Street. Her television and film credits include the feature film A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, The Muppet Show, Saturday Night Live,  Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and Apple TV’s Helpsters. On stage, she appeared in the Broadway production of The Pee-wee Herman Show.

Peter Hodgson (Music Director/Supervisor & Addt'l Arrangements)

Peter Hodgson is a composer, writer, and music director working across musical theatre, film, and documentary storytelling. His work spans a wide variety of musical genres, including theatre, pop, rock, and amapiano. As a music director, he has worked in the United States and internationally and currently serves as a vocal director and arranger for Celebrity Cruises. His work includes the sci-fi rock musical Broken Bride, based on the music of the band Ludo.  As a writer, his projects include This Land, a documentary about the 2020 Election Day, and Boundless, a documentary musical exploring the Cape Cod fishing industry. He holds a B.A. in Music Theory and Composition from New York University and an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Dana Levinson (Arrangements)

Dana Levinson (Arrangements) is a composer, arranger and orchestrator (as well as an actor and writer, but that's for another bio). Music and Lyrics: 5th Republic  (NYMF 2011 under the title Les Enfants de Paris), Madame (NYMF Developmental Reading 2012), Báthory. Arranging and Orchestration: Gypsy of the Year: Avenue Q Presentation(Minskoff Theatre), Joanna Gleason (Provincetown Art House, 54 Below), Well-Strung (various), LUDO’s Broken Bride (Ars-Nova). Film Scoring: The Waystation in the Stars (dir. Brandon Morrissey), Monica's Mixing Bowl (dir. Jesse Averna, prod. Stacey Weingarten and Monica Willey). Dana is a graduate of The New School. She also studied Oud and Arab music with the conductor of the New York Arabic Orchestra, Bassam Saba.

Stacey Weingarten (Director, Adaptation/Book)

Stacey is an Emmy-winning multi-hypenate - writer, director, producer. Her specialties are Musicals, Puppetry, and Family Media – but also Not-for-Family Media, as evidenced projects like Broken Bride! With an eye for development, she thrives taking projects from concept to execution, enjoying the collaborative process at every stage. Her focus is always on what is best for the project, which includes using skills developed with the prestigious Dramatists Guild Fellowship. Favorite stage projects include family musicals based on her rescue dog, Rescue Rue (Off-Broadway) & Runaway Rue (Fringe), historical-fiction Ink & Paint (by Danielle E. Moore), and sci-fi rock opera Ludo’s Broken Bride (NYMF). Favorite Filmed projects include Rescue Rue, Cone of Shame (Handmade Puppet Dreams), Reading Buddies (PBS), and Monica’s Mixing Bowl (CMJD LLC). When she’s not being a traditional multi-hyphenate, she can be found in world of TV and Film Puppetry, serving as the Muppet Workshop Supervisor on The Muppet Show (2025), and Puppet Wrangling for many of your favorite puppet shows, like Sesame Street.
